In 1999 there was a sharp increase in the market for computer games, dramatically changing modern computer graphics and parallel computing. More recently, the use of GPUs to accelerate deep learning algorithms has given rise to modern artificial intelligence. This has led to the beginning of a new era of computing, where GPUs act as the “brain” of computers, robots and self-driving cars that are able to perceive and interact with our world.
